Where It All Began...Jacob

As I look ahead to Jacob's surgery, I can't help but remember those early days in Jinan, China when I first laid eyes on my little guy. He was 2.5 years old, but the size of the average 9 month old. He sat hunched over and could barely walk, due to such poor muscle tone. He couldn't say a word and cried almost constantly, afraid of everything and everyone. When I said yes to making that little boy my own, I made a promise to China, his birth mother, and to him that I would do whatever it took to give him a happy, healthy, and well deserved life in a home full of people who love him. So many people have asked me over the years, "Why adopt children that have such complex special needs?" The answer to that question can be summed up in one word...Love. I have no idea what Wednesday will hold for us, but seeing this video will remind us all of why and how this amazing little guy became such an important part of our family.
